A strong answer shows awareness of different attack types, from volumetric floods to application-layer abuse. The goal is not only to block the attack, but to preserve service quality under pressure.

I would make sure the proxy enforces strict request validation, isolates tenants, protects sensitive headers, and logs enough detail for investigation. I would also think about authentication, authorization, and where the proxy should terminate TLS. Good proxy security is about minimizing trust in the traffic it forwards.
